How to check if your computer is being monitored?

In today’s digital age, protecting your privacy is more crucial than ever. Have you ever wondered if your computer is being monitored without your knowledge?

With the increasing risks associated with cyber threats and unauthorized access, ensuring the security of your personal data has become a priority. This article will guide you through the steps to check if your computer is being monitored, helping you safeguard your digital life.

1. How to check if your computer is being monitored?

* Check File History:

Step 1: Go to This PC

Step 2: Go to Quick access and check Recent files to see recently opened files.

* Check for strange logins

Step 1: Open the search toolbar on the Taskbar, type “event viewer” and open the Event Viewer application.

Step 2: Go to Windows Logs, then select Security.

Step 3: Using the Find feature, enter “4672” and press Find Next to check if there are any inconsistent timestamps in Event ID 4672. This is a special log that indicates remote login over the network.

* CPU Test:

Step 1: Right-click on the Taskbar and open Task Manager.

Step 2: Close all running applications and observe the CPU usage rate. If the rate is regularly at 85-100% with no applications open, there is a high chance that your computer is being monitored.

* Webcam Test:

If you notice that the Webcam indicator light is on without any application being opened, it is possible that someone is accessing and monitoring through the Webcam. In this case, you should turn off the Webcam or restart your computer to ensure safety.
