Microsoft is prompting businesses to update to Windows 10. So people will see a prompt to upgrade to Windows 10 on the pop-up taskbar asking you to upgrade to Windows 10. You don’t want to upgrade. on Windows 10?
You find it really annoying. The best solution to get rid of them is to use a GPO or Registry.
First, update Windows to make sure your computer is up to date with the latest Windows patches. Then continue to see the details below.
If you are using Windows 7. Click Start, in the Search programs and file box type Run and then run the Run program.
In Windows 8.1 you can open the Run program more easily by pressing the Windows + R icon. Then type Regedit to open Registry Editor.
The principle is quite simple that we just need to disable the upgrade feature. To do that, navigate to HKEY_LOAL_MACHINE in the Registry. Then create a DWORD item to do all this work. In Registry Editor go to Edit -> New -> DWORD (32-bit Value). This will create a new folder in HKEY_LOAL_MACHINE.
Name “DisableOSUpgrade” for the newly created entry and press Enter.
Next, double click on the DisableOSUpgrade item you have just created. In the new window that opens, set the value data to 1 and click OK.
Now go back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. You create another DWORD again by going to Edit -> New -> DWORD (32-bit Value). Name the newly created item “DisableGWX” and then press Enter.
Once again double-click DisableGWX, in the new window that opens the value data setting with 1, click OK. Then close the Registry Editor.
Now you just need to restart the computer. The reminder to upgrade to Windows 10 will completely disappear.
