With the increasing popularity of Facebook, malware is also becoming increasingly raging on Facebook.
It spreads through links that contain malicious code or lead to malicious websites that people post on your wall. Unfortunately, most Facebook users may not know it or care about it.
Here are three useful apps developed from well-known security vendors that will help protect your Facebook account, even when you’re not logged in.
1. Bitdefender Safego
This Facebook application protects you from malicious links and closes connections that hackers can exploit into your account. The application scans items posted on the wall, sharing status and assesses account privacy by visual level.
Go to Here then press Application Access> click Allow to approve the application’s connection request to your account. Bitdefender Safego will automatically perform its task, which can take several minutes. Complete, the test results table will appear with many interesting information.
Look at the Infected items and Latest scanned items tables, which are a bunch of dangerous sharing links and “dirty” comments in the home wall posts that the app detects. The Statistics section shows the entries, links that have been scanned, and the number of infected items found. In the Privacy section, display your account status in an intuitive color scale.
2. Norton Safe Web
The application is capable of scanning all links posted on your News Feed page within 24 hours of prior use. In particular, you can let automatic scans using the application’s quite useful Auto-Scan feature.

If you want the app to automatically check your home wall when you’re not using Facebook, drag the button to the left to enter Auto-Scan On under Your account is currently protected by Norton Auto-Scan.
